Post 15: Roses and Co-workers

One thing that I have learned over my years of working in different offices, is that you don't always get along with your co-workers. There are times where I get so frustrated that it makes me want to tear out my hair. Not lately, and sometimes it is more a miscommunication thing than a difficult co-worker.

Based on the office gossip at the places I've worked, I have been blessed as far as co-workers go.

I have heard about co-workers who take credit for things that someone else on the team did, co-workers that steal things, co-workers that blame others for things not going right, and co-workers that push off their work on others.

What is interesting to me is that sometimes the people I am hearing negative things about, are also my co-workers and I've never had a problem with them.

Of course, I had the same thing happen back when I was in school as well. Other students and teachers that my friends didn't like or my friends felt were rude, were nice to me. (Might relate to the fact that two of my strengths are Woo and Empathy, according to StrengthsFinder.)

Anyway, the point is that the workplace is not always a friendly environment.

Where I am now the people I work with are friendly. One of my co-workers, who is very nice and always offering to buy people coffee, bought me and another co-worker roses yesterday. It was so nice. They are very pretty.

I don't know what they are called, but the inside of the petals are a deep shade of red, and the outside of the peals is an orange-yellow.

She said it was a thank you gift for help, which was very sweet of her. And it was nice, a gift that made makes you feel appreciated and that smells and looks nice.

What do you think of your co-workers?

Have any stories about difficult co-workers?
